Theft of Services Reported

• At 9:45 a.m. Friday, police received a report of a theft of services in the 1000 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue. A customer allegedly left the business without paying for repairs to a truck.

Man Turns Himself in on Burglary Charges, Is Not Charged

• At 10:17 a.m. Friday, a 34-year-old Chehalis man, confessed at the Chehalis Police Department to two burglaries. He was arrested, but the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office declined to file charges.

Man With Wine Bottles in Pants Arrested on Theft Charge

• Carl. O. Bergmann, 43, a transient from the Seattle area, was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at 4:04 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. Police responded after receiving reports of an intoxicated panhandler and of a man seen pulling wine bottles from his pants. 

Hit and Run Accident Reported

• At 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Animals Abandoned

• At 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report that people evicted from a residence in the 300 block of Northwest State Avenue in Chehalis left six cats, a dog and a turtle behind.

Vehicle Prowl Reported

• At 7:41 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1000 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue.

Caller Reports Harassment with Tire Iron

• At 6:07 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a woman brandishing a tire iron in the 2000 block of Southwest Olympic Drive.

Centralia Police Department

Driver Cited on Suspicion of Hit and Run

• Mary R. Evans, 67, of Tenino, was cited at 9:16 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of North Pearl Street on suspicion of hit and run.

Jewelry Reported Stolen

• At 10:52 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of jewelry stolen from the 1400 block of Oxford Avenue.

Woman Arrested After Alleged Assault

• Cindy Chatwin, 24, Centralia, was arrested at 11:06 a.m. Friday on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Vehicle Reported Stolen

• At 1:50 p.m. on Friday, a truck was reported stolen in the 400 block of West Magnolia Street. The alleged victim identified a suspect. The incident is under investigation.

Vehicle prowls

• At 8:47 a.m. on Friday, a phone charger was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of West Cherry Street.

• At 2:40 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a drill and ignition interlock device stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Latona Street.

Men Cited for Fighting

• Benjamin J. Davidson, 29; Michael L. Powell, 40; and Mark W. Powell, 43, all of Centralia, were cited at 5:44 p.m. Friday on suspicion of fighting in public.

Motorcyclist Airlifted

• At 10:12 p.m. on Friday, a motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a collision near the intersection of Marsh and Mellen avenues.

Woman Arrested for Allegedly Spitting on Security Guard;

No Charges Filed

• A 29 year-old-Chehalis woman was arrested at 12:56 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road on suspicion of third-degree assault after allegedly spitting on hospital security personnel. The Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office declined to file charges.

Copper Wire Stolen

• At 1:01 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a copper wire theft in the 100 block of West Main Street.

Dog Bites Neighbor

• At 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, a person in the 1400 block of Oxford Avenue reported being bitten by a neighbor’s dog.

Computer Reported Stolen

• At 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, a computer was reported stolen in the 100 block of South Rock Street.

TV, Games Taken in Burglary

• At 10:56 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a burglary in the 1200 block of North Tower Avenue. A television, XBox 360 game console and games were reported stolen. 

Bicycle Reported Stolen

• At 8:44 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a bicycle stolen in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street.

Police Respond to Assault, Restraining Order Violation

• At 4:01 a.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of an assault and a violation of a protection order in the 1200 block of Alder Street. Officers did not find the suspect. The incident is under investigation.

• At 2:20 p.m. on July 29, a bicycle was reported stolen in the 500 block of Main Avenue.

Cash Reported Stolen at Blueberry Festival

• At 12:13 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of an apron containing $70 being stolen at the Mossyrock Blueberry Festival.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

One Arrested for DUI After Collision

• Steven A. Rodgers, 59, of Winlock was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence at 12:22 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Drews Prairie Road in Winlock. Rodgers’ 1999 Dodge Caravan sustained minor damage after it failed to negotiate a turn and left the road, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived to find that Rodgers was “extremely intoxicated,” said Capt. Dusty Breen, of the Sheriff’s Office.

Jewelry, Other Items Stolen in Winlock Burglary

• The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary July 30 in the 1400 block of Northwest Kerron Avenue in Winlock. Jewelry and other miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

Camper, Car Stolen in Chehalis

• A 1996 Winnebago motorhome and a 2001 Ford Mustang were reported stolen at 8 a.m. Aug. 2 in the 100 block of Middle Fork Road in Chehalis. The total value is estimated at $20,000. It is unknown when the vehicles were stolen. 

Man Arrested After DUI Crash

• Clinton James Rains, 22, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after driving a 1998 Nissan Sentra into a ditch at 2:06 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Rhoades Road in Winlock. The vehicle had minor damage.

• At 8:23 a.m. on Friday, a brush fire was reported in the 2400 block of U.S. Hightway12 in Salkum.

• At 7:27 p.m. on Friday, a brush fire was reported in the 1300 block of Salzer Valley Road in Centralia.

• At 2:17 a.m. on Saturday, a brush fire was reported in the 1100 block of North Gold Street in Centralia.

• At 10:23 a.m. on Saturday, a brush fire was reported near the intersection of Halliday and Big Hanaford roads in Centralia.

• At 5:14 p.m. on Monday, a brush fire was reported in the 600 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Napavine.
