Assured Home Health and Hospice will celebrate its 25th year in Lewis County with an old-fashioned social, including cake, punch and door prizes from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in Centralia's George Washington Park. The event is free and open to the public.

The Assured Home Health and Hospice Agency started in the old J.C. Penney building in Chehalis in 1978.

Today, the agency has 10 offices in Western Washington and Oregon, and employs 300 people. It is the only employee-owned health-care organization in the Northwest.

Representatives from Assured Home Health will present awards to the founders of the agency, or their families, at the anniversary festivities. The agency's founders were JoAnne Coleman, Helen E. Wahal, Beverly Curtis and Vivian Johnson.
