On Saturday, Sept. 18, dancers will audition for the Centralia Ballet Academy’s winter 2021 performances of “The Nutcracker.” The deadline to sign up for auditions is Wednesday, Sept. 15.
Dancers must be at least 8 years old and be actively enrolled in a ballet class. Auditions are open to students outside the Centralia Ballet Academy. For those accepted, there is a $50 participation fee. Space is limited.

This year’s “Nutcracker” performances will take place the weekend of Dec. 3 at Centralia College’s Corbet Theatre. The academy will present the traditional, full length Nutcracker with some added elements including new sets and costumes. Producers have been consulting with Disney Imagineers and other professionals in the themed entertainment industry to expand the storyline and create a more immersive experience for performers and audience members.
