Chamber Way bridge inspection to be carried out on Monday in Chehalis

Commuters who use Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way as an Interstate 5 access point to in Chehalis will have to take a detour next week while the Chehalis Public Works Department carries out an inspection of the Chamber Way Bridge, according to a news release from the city.

Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way will be closed on Monday, Sept. 16, starting at 7 a.m. and will remain closed until the inspection is complete which is expected to happen on the same day during the afternoon around 3:30 p.m.

The road will be closed due to the type of equipment needed to inspect the underside of the bridge. City staff ask commuters to drive slowly and cautiously if going near the work zone.



This inspection is done every two years as required by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
