Chehalis Farmers Market to host rummage sale, offer two more months of regular markets

Posted

The Community Farmers Market of Chehalis will host a rummage sale next week and launch into the 2024 autumn market season.

The rummage sale will take place on Friday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 105 Newaukum Valley Road in Chehalis.

Attendees can expect farm, garden and home goods at the sale.

The proceeds from the sale will benefit the market and allow for local farmers and artisans to continue selling their goods and providing a space for kids to learn about healthy eating.

As the market is a nonprofit, fundraisers such as the rummage sale greatly impact the market’s ability to maintain operation.

Keeping the market funded aids in the creation of community as well as provides a place for those using WIC, EBT, senior, market match or Sun Bucks to use their benefits to access farm fresh food.

Community members can help by shopping at the sale, donating usable items or volunteering.

The autumn market season will begin on Sept. 3 and run until Oct. 29. The market will maintain its hours of operation on Tuesdays and every second Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Boistfort Street in Chehalis.

Autumn market items that will be sold include fresh flowers, alpaca fiber, handmade pottery, tea, local and seasonal produce, honey, soap, body care products, eggs, handcrafted home fragrances, mead, gemstone jewelry, locally roasted coffee, baked goods and cold aged sipping vinegars.
