ChehalisFest to Span Nearly a Full Week

Posted

ChehalisFest, normally a single-day event, will return this year for July 26 to 31.

Shops downtown will offer discounts and sidewalk sales, special events, game tournaments and more throughout the week. New this year is the ChehalisFest Car Show, hosted by Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill, and two scavenger hunts.

The “Family Scavenger Hunt” begins at the butterfly mural next to Market Street Bakery. At each stop, scavengers can scan a QR code to enter their names into a drawing for an envelope full of gift cards to local stores, totaling $300 in value. The “Downtown Summer Stroll” is the same concept with a separate prize of $300 in local gift cards, but this hunt is only made available to shoppers at participating businesses in downtown Chehalis.

ChehalisFest is hosted by the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team, a member of Washington State’s Main Street Program. The organization aims to support Chehalis businesses through “Chehalis Coworks,” creating connections between businesses and beautifying the city, among other projects, according to executive director Annalee Tobey.

“We’ve almost tripled the amount of responses we've had in past years on Facebook,” she said of ChehalisFest 2021.

Also reflective of the community’s energetic response to this year’s event, there will be 30 different vendors involved in the July 31 street fair.

When asked her favorite part of ChehalisFest, Tobey said it was “seeing the streets full of people just having a good time. There’s nothing better.”
