Antique Fest

Aug. 6 to 8 in Downtown Centralia; 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Outdoor vintage flea market. Antique appraiser George Higby will appraise antique and vintage collectibles for $5 per item.   

 

Chehalis Gambler 500 Poker Run

Aug. 7 and 8 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This Gambler 500 event will feature two days of events, trail cleaning, raffles, camping and fundraising for the Veterans Memorial Museum. Call the museum at 360-740-8875 or email info@veteransmuseum.org for more information.

 

Bearcat Base Race 5K

Thorbeckes Athletic Club is hosting a fun 5k run/walk and silent auction on August 7 to help raise funds toward the Chehalis Foundation’s $450,000 goal for the baseball field at W.F. West High School, including a new astro turf field.

 

Morton/Mineral All School 50-Year Reunion, Classes of 1970 and 1971

Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Morton Elementary School gymnasium; Registration open at 10 a.m., program begins at 11:30 a.m. Lunch at 12 p.m.

This reunion will honor the classes of 1970 and 1971. Admission is free, lunch costs $10. A high school tour will be held at 3 p.m. The school will stay open all afternoon for visiting. Visit the “Morton Mineral All School Reunion” page on Facebook for more information.

 

Bagpipes and Fiddlers  at the Pioneer Church

Aug. 7 at the Historic Borst Home Museum, Centralia; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In celebration of the newly built Pioneer Church and to honor the Scottish heritage of Mary Borst, bagpipe hymns will be played with a brief history preceding each tune. This event is free. Fiddles will be played at 11 a.m.

Boistfort High School Classes of 1970 and 1971 50th Reunions

Aug. 8 at the Boistfort gymnasium/lunchroom, 983 Boistfort Rd., Curtis; 12 p.m.

This annual Boistfort alumni potluck will celebrate the 50 year reunions for the classes of 1970 and 1971. All former graduates, classmates, community members and teachers are invited for an afternoon of food, memories and reunion. Student yearbook pictures from those classes will be on display. Free Concert



Aug. 8 at the Tenino Quarry Pool; 1 p.m.

The Olympia Symphony Orchestra will perform a mix of patriotic and Americana songs inside the drained Tenino Quarry Pool kiddie area. The concert is free to attendees, who are encouraged to bring their own seats and umbrellas for shade.

 

August Business Forum: Live Debates

Aug. 12 at O'Blarney's at the Gibson House, 221 North Tower Ave., Centralia; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly business forum. This iteration will be similar to July’s business forum with candidate debates. There will be Centralia Port Commissioner District 1 candidates, Chehalis Port Commissioner District 2 candidates and Chehalis City Council Position 1 candidates. The forum begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and networking. The verbal debates begin at noon and will conclude at 1 p.m. Cost of admission is $5 and the cost of admission with lunch is $17.

 

Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for The Juice Box

Aug. 13 at The Juice Box, 216 South Tower Ave., Centralia; 4 to 5 p.m.

Morton Loggers’ Jubilee

Aug. 13 to 15 at 451 Knittles Way, Morton

Back for the 78th time, this event celebrates the history of loggers in Morton with a parade, lawnmower races, a pageant and logging show competition featuring axe throwing, tree topping, pole climbing and many other categories.

Mount St. Helens Bluegrass Festival

Aug. 13 to 15 at Kemp Olson Memorial Park, Toledo

California bands Central Valley Boys and Crying Uncle will headline. Others featured at the festival will be Oregon’s Fern Hill, Kentucky Sky from Idaho and Olympic Peninsula ensemble FarmStrong.
