Both directions of Interstate 5 on the Cowlitz River Bridge near Toledo will experience intermittent delays between 6:30 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22, during a routine bridge inspection.
“The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)’s bridge maintenance crews will inspect both spans of the Cowlitz River Bridges just south of Toledo between mileposts 58-60. These inspections are important for keeping our bridges safe and in good condition,” WSDOT said in a news release.
The northbound I-5 inspection will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, and the southbound inspection will take place on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The bridge is located between mileposts 58 and 60 on I-5.
WSDOT encourages travelers to plan ahead for daytime delays.
“For everyone’s safety, during bridge inspections, travelers are reminded to slow down, stay focused and watch for road crews,” WSDOT said in a news release.
