The Black Hills boys basketball team got some much-needed revenge Thursday, taking out Shelton 54-49 in 2A EvCo action.

The win keeps the Wolves (10-6, 6-2 2A EvCo) a full game ahead of the Highclimbers for third place in the 2A EvCo, and keeps them in the thick of things with Tumwater and W.F. West at the top of the league standings.

Jack Ellison did the bulk of the damage, scoring a game-high 30 points, including 20 of the Wolves’ 34 in the second half, when Black Hills overcame a four-point halftime deficit to turn things around in its favor.

Simon Nysted added 10 points, hitting two 3-pointers in the first quarter, and Talon Morrill had eight.

With a win against one of two teams that beat them in the first pass through the EvCo under their belt, the Wolves will get ready to face the second now, with W.F. West coming north to play next Wednesday.
