Girls Soccer: Cardinals Taken Down by South Bend

Angela Gil-Munoz knocked in Winlock’s lone goal but it wasn’t enough to beat South Bend in a 3-1, non-league road loss Monday night in Pacific County.

Winlock coach Corny Sanchez praised Gil-Munoz, Adriana Garcia for her sweeper work and Kiya Peppers for her goal-keeping duties.

“The whole team has been improving every game,” Sanchez said. “I’m pleased with their performance. We just have to continue working.”

Winlock (0-3) is looking for its first win when it takes a long road trip up the Olympic Peninsula to face Forks in its final non-league match on Wednesday.
