In loving memory of Dale Schueller: 1944-2024

Posted

Dale Curtis Schueller, age 80, was born in Mount Vernon, Washington, on Feb. 16, 1944, to Myrtle Marie (Bauerly) Schueller and Donald Joseph Schueller.

Immediately following Sealth High, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1962, serving four years as an aviation technician and in the Reserves for an additional two. He retired from Boeing after 33 years in 1999 and became a business owner with his wife, Nancy, of Plato’s Closet and Clothes Mentor in West Olympia. Dale served as past grand worthy president of Renton Eagles No. 1722, where he proudly supported several related charities.

Dale deeply loved his brothers and sisters, was a loving husband, father and mentor to many, and was a friend to all. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Sadly, he suffered a severe brain hemorrhage on April 9. Thankfully, family and friends were able to gather in the immediate hours to follow. Dale died peacefully in the early morning hours of April 11, 2024, in the care of Tacoma General Hospital with family at his side.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Nancy; brothers, Richard Schueller, Thomas Schueller and Larry Schueller; and sisters, Donna Paul and Linda Fiscus. He is survived by his brothers, Nick Schueller (Helen), LeRoy Schueller and James Kenny (Diana); sisters, Beverly Wells and Betty Fiscus; sister-in-law, Alice Schueller; daughter, Deborah Louis Wallace (Cindy and grandchild, Jacob); son, Duane Schueller (Nicole and grandchildren, Avery and Colby); stepson, Raymond Barker (Lisa and grandchildren, Aden, Polk and Georgia); and stepson, Richard Barker (Adrienne and grandchildren, Marin and Declan).

Additional services beyond private family gatherings are not planned at this time. Remembrances may be made in Dale’s name to Eagle Valley Campground, Cle Elum, Washington (eaglevalleycamp.com), where he and Nancy enjoyed many summers volunteering and creating special memories with friends and loved ones. Bless all who knew him.
