Letter to the Editor: There Are Two Good Candidates — But Snaza Stands Out

Posted

We have two very good candidates for sheriff. But one man stands out: Sheriff Rob Snaza!

I have been seeing a lot of negative comments about some decisions he has made, but when I dig in and see what the reasonings are for, I totally get it. He is being blamed for the rise of drug addiction, crime and various other things. There are some people who talk a lot of trash about Snaza for things that our current state government is actually responsible for.

Some people say that Rob has lost his passion. That’s not it at all. His hands, like the hands of all our law enforcement, are tied when it comes to these new drug laws and laws making it more lenient for criminals, allowing them to continue to commit crimes.

I share Rob’s passion to help addicts to get off the drugs. Yes, we know they have to want it, but some do want it. They just need that extra direction. I know because I was one of them. I was always encouraged by the sheriff and many of his deputies to stay strong. I now have close to 16 years clean.

Rob and his deputies constantly inspire me to keep living strong and to always share my story with others. I want a strong voice for people like me and a strong voice to help change these new horrible drug and crime laws. That voice, is in fact, Rob Snaza.

I would also like to add, both candidates have honorably served their communities for many years. Neither man is responsible for the current issues that we are struggling with. They both deserve our respect! No matter which side people are on, we need to stop the blame game and look at where the real responsibility lies, with our state government.

Our candidates need their supporters to represent them in a positive manner without the ugliness that’s been displayed. Being civil to one another is important.

Each man has brought many great things over the years of their service and deserve to be represented by the people with honor. Let our candidates do their job in speaking to the people during this election time and let them run an honorable campaign.

Thank you to both our candidates for your love for this community.
