Chronicle columnist Brian Mittge’s description of Dave Reichert as “a principled conservative” apparently is intended to cleanse Mr. Reichert of any personal responsibility for the frequent embrace of unfragrant political positions for the sake of remaining electable.
It is Reichert’s frequent abandonment of principle that has prompted almost all Republican county parties in the state of Washington to endorse Misipati Semi Bird’s bid for governor.
His principled leadership is both transparent and earnest.
