Longview man injured after suffering medical emergency, crashing in Lewis County

A 73-year-old Longview man suffered a medical event and crashed his vehicle near Interstate 5 in Lewis County on Friday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol. 

Robert G. Jones was traveling south on Interstate 5 at about 4:05 p.m. when he suffered an unknown medical incident, took Exit 57, and continued through the intersection and down a hill before striking a fence. 

Jones was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the state patrol. 



His 2020 Toyota Camry was totaled. 

Drugs or alcohol were not factors, according to the state patrol, which listed the cause of the crash as wheels off roadway.
