Pendleton is opening a new store at the Centralia Outlets in November.
Pendleton Woolen Mills, a Northwest company that makes clothing and blankets with designs inspired by Native American art, is moving into a nearly 5,000 square-foot location at 1318 Lum Road on the west side of Interstate 5.
“They’re a company that’s a northwest icon so it’s a really nice addition to the center,” said Renate Johnson, the outlet manager. “A lot of people like their woolen products.”
Easy Spirit, is vacating its space to make room for the new retailer.
The shoe store is moving to a smaller, 2,500 square-foot location just three doors down at 1324 Lum Road.
Easy Spirit has closed and is renovating the space next to Volcom this week.
The outlet will feature a new look with enhanced lighting and polished concrete floors.
“It’s brighter, it’s fresher,” Johnson said. “It’s going to be a nicer, new feel.”
Easy Spirit expects to be back open for business before the weekend, Johnson said.
The move, she said, makes way for the opening of the Pendleton Outlet in early to mid November, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
“Everyone comes out to have some really big savings when they’re shopping for Christmas,” Johnson said.
The Centralia Outlets opened in 1988, becoming the first outlet shopping center in the Pacific Northwest. Located adjacent to Interstate 5, the Centralia Outlets offer a stopping point for travelers between Seattle and Portland.
