A seven-run deficit in the nightcap did little to deter the Adna baseball team on Monday, as the Pirates came back to top the Mules and complete a doubleheader sweep of Wahkiakum.

Adna (15-3, 14-2 C2BL) scored the final 12 runs of the comeback win, winning 12-7, after taking Game 1 11-1 in five innings.

Tristan Percival was on his A-Game in the first matchup, as he allowed just two hits and one run while striking out 11 in five. Beau Miller and Reid Caviness both collected two hits and drove in a run, and Ty Bodenhamer brought home a pair.

Wahkiakum jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first three innings of Game 2, but Adna scored eight in the fourth and three in the fifth to retake control of the game.

Danner Hoinowski collected three hits and drove in two runs, and Aiden Percival went 2 for 4 with a double and scored two runs. Caviness didn’t record an official at-bat, but he tallied two RBIs thanks to a sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded hit by pitch.

After entering the game in the second, Brody Richards pitched four and two-thirds, giving up three hits and two runs while walking three and striking out six.

The Pirates will wrap up their regular season with a two-game series against Onalaska, which starts at Adna on Friday.
