TUMWATER — The Rural Baseball Inc. Dirtbags Defeated the Black Hills Wolves 23-11 in eight innings that were abundant with offensive production at the plate

The young Wolves team gave the Dirtbags a run for their money early on and were able to fight back from a 10-run deficit to bring the score within three in the fourth inning, but the Dirtbags just kept on scoring.

This Black Hills team only fielded two of their varsity starters from the previous season, with players from 12th to as low as sixth grade taking the field.

The Wolves’ lack of experience proved to be costly as the Dirtbags were able to put on a show at the plate and pull far away in the later innings.

“We’re hitting the ball really well, Blake Howard is just a doubles machine,” Dirtbags coach J.C. Workman said. “We’re really disciplined at the plate and taking the extra bases when we can, just doing the little things right.”
