Schultz Dominant, Toledo Run-Rules Winlock

The Toledo baseball team earned itself another rivalry win in run-rule fashion over Winlock behind another gem of a start, with Caiden Schultz shutting the Cardinals out in a 10-0, five-inning victory.

Schultz only needed to face 16 batters to get through five innings, allowing one hit — a Kyrin Meehan single in the second — and getting 13 of his 15 outs via strikeout.

He also got in on the fun at the plate, hitting a double to spark a four-run rally in the first inning. Geoffrey Glass hit an RBI single in the first and added a double in the fourth, and Carson Gould went 2 for 2 with a walk and scored all three times he got on base.

Carter Svenson got tagged with the loss for Winlock, going all four innings on the hill. Thanks to five errors in the field behind him, just one of the 10 runs he allowed was earned.

The Riverhawks and Cardinals will both be off the next week for spring break. Toledo will return to play with a non-league contest against Pe Ell-Willapa Valley on April 7, while Winlock will get a bit longer of a break and come back to league play at Kalama on April 10.
