A section of U.S. Highway 12 will close to traffic east of White Pass along Rimrock Lake starting Monday, Aug. 26.
Travelers will need to follow the signed detour around Tieton Reservoir Road, which will add about 20 minutes of travel time, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Crews are repairing a culvert at Andy Creek at milepost 159. The work is scheduled to be completed in November.
Fire repairs continue
Meanwhile, efforts continue to repair U.S. 12 from milepost 171 to 184 between White Pass and Yakima from damage from the Retreat Fire.
There is a 12-foot width restriction and one-way flagged, pilot vehicle-controlled traffic through the work zone from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
