Sirens: Damage to Building; Eluding Police; Half-Naked on the Bus; Assault

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft and Burglary

• Money was reported stolen from the 2000 block of Ahlers Avenue at approximately 3:25 p.m. on April 7.

• A possible burglary reported in the 700 block of Euclid Way just after 4:50 p.m. on April 7 is under investigation.

• A possible case of shoplifting from a business in the 100 block of West High Street that was reported just before 6:35 p.m. on April 7 is under investigation.

• A vehicle was reported stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of North Pearl Street just after 11:15 p.m. on April 7.

• Money was reported stolen from the 1500 block of Harrison Avenue at 1:50 p.m. on April 8. The incident is under investigation.

• Juan D. Woods, 36, of Olympia, was arrested in the 100 block of West High Street just before 7 p.m. on April 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree theft. Additional possession of drug paraphernalia charges were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

Crashes

• Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues at approximately 8:25 a.m. on April 7.

• A non-injury, three-vehicle collision in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue was reported just after 10:45 a.m. on April 8.

 

Damage to Building

• A juvenile male is being referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for allegedly causing damage to the inside of a building in the 3400 block of Galvin Road just after 8:20 p.m. on April 7.

 

Eluding Police

• Marco A. Vazquez Garcia, 27, of Centralia, was arrested in the 100 block of West Maple Street just after 8:30 p.m. on April 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly attempting to elude a police vehicle. Additional charges for allegedly driving with a suspended license were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assault

• A possible fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, was reported just after 9:25 a.m. on April 7 in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street.

 

Theft



• A third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue just after 12:25 p.m. on April 7 is under investigation.

 

Half-Naked On the Bus

• Just after 1:20 p.m. on April 7, a caller reported that a “violent disorderly” subject who was “half naked” was trying to get on the bus in the 700 block of Northwest Arkansas Way. No arrests were made.

 

Hit-and-Runs

• A hit-and-run was reported from the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue at 2:30 p.m. on April 7.

• A hit-and-run at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way that was reported at 5:40 p.m. on April 7 is under investigation.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Just after 4 p.m. on April 7, a caller reported damage done to one of the train cars at the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum in the 1100 block of Southwest Sylvenus Street.

• A man was arrested in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 1 a.m. on April 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree malicious mischief after he allegedly threw chocolate and a plate at a woman and “told her to kill herself and scratched her car with a knife and popped (the) tire.”

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• At 6:05 p.m. on April 7, a caller reported that their daughter was being stalked or followed by a male subject in a white van.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 134 inmates, including 121 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 100 were reported male and 21 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
