Sirens: Homeless woman 'defecates on church property daily'; woman washes clothes at spray park; indecent exposure reported at fountain

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Reckless burning

• At 12:30 p.m. on July 26, a dumpster fire that occurred in the 100 block of West High Street sometime overnight was reported.

 

Theft

• A credit card was reported stolen from the 100 block of West Maple Street at approximately 1:35 p.m. on July 26. The case is under investigation.

• Money was reported stolen from a bank account in the 1000 block of E Street at 2:55 p.m. on July 26. The case is under investigation.

• At approximately 6:20 p.m. on July 27, officers took a report of someone in the 700 block of South Gold Street using a credit card reader to transfer nearly $1,000 to a debit/credit card. The case is under investigation.

• A Motobecane bicycle was reported stolen from the intersection of West Reynolds Avenue and Johnson Road just after 3:35 p.m. on July 28. An officer was able to locate the suspect and recover the bicycle.

 

Drug violation

• A 24-year-old Centralia man was arrested for possession of meth in the 200 block of North Pearl Street just after 2:50 a.m. on July 27.

 

Assault

• A 30-year-old Centralia man was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence in the 2100 block of North Pearl Street just after 3:20 a.m. on July 27.

• Officers responded to a report of a male hitting a female inside a vehicle at the intersection of Johnson Road and Earl Street at 7:20 p.m. on July 27. Officers were unable to locate the male, 49, of Centralia. He was referred to the prosecutor’s office for fourth-degree assault charges.

 

Criminal trespass

• A homeless woman who “defecates on church property daily” in the 300 block of East Main Street was trespassed from the property just before 9:45 a.m. on July 27.

 

Malicious mischief

• At 10:05 a.m. on July 28, there was a report that a vehicle’s canvas canopy was slashed in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue sometime overnight.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal trespass

• Subjects who were selling puppies outside of a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 12:45 p.m. on July 26 were trespassed from the business and advised of a city ordinance prohibiting individuals from selling dogs within city limits.

• A criminal trespass reported in the 500 block of Southwest Riverside Drive at approximately 10:15 p.m. on July 27 is under investigation.

• A woman who was washing her laundry at the spray park in the 400 block of Southwest Parkland Drive at 9:30 a.m. on July 28 was trespassed from Gail & Carolyn Shaw Aquatic Center for life.

• An RV that had been parked in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue for four hours was moved along just after 12:20 a.m. on July 29. 

 

Assault

• A woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence in the 300 block of Southwest Ninth Street just after 5:35 p.m. on July 26.

 

Suspicious circumstances



• A cat was reported stolen from the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. on July 26.

• A subject was “talking about stabbing people and cussing and making suicidal comments” in the 30 block of Northwest State Street at 7:35 p.m. on July 26.

• A citizen in the 200 block of Southwest 15th Street reported someone was reportedly “Saran-wrapping her neighbor’s truck” at approximately 8:45 p.m. on July 26.

• A woman was reportedly “stabbing her backpack with a knife and shouting to herself” in the 10 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 11:20 a.m. on July 27.

• A report of a “suspicious person” in the 300 block of West Main Street just after 2:10 p.m. on July 27 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 100 block of Northeast School Street just after 8:40 p.m. on July 26 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle accident

• An elderly male driver reportedly lost consciousness after he drove onto the sidewalk in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard and struck a fire hydrant and the side of a building just after 10 a.m. on July 27.

 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:25 p.m. on July 28.

 

Indecent exposure

• A man was reportedly seen “dropping his pants and sticking his hand down his pants” near a fountain in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just after 2:25 p.m. on July 27.

 

Vicious dog

• A dog reportedly bit a 60-year-old female in the 1500 block of Rice Road at 5:25 p.m. on July 27.

 

Harassment

• A man in the camping area of the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in the 2500 block of North National Avenue reportedly threatened “to pull out a firearm” on a person walking their dog just after 11:50 a.m. on July 28. He was arrested for harassment. 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute regarding a stray cat was reported at the intersection of Northeast Franklin Avenue and Northeast Division Street just before 10:55 p.m. on July 28. The reporting party said she “was not involved (but) inserted herself,” and said she “wanted to report what happened but ‘not make a big deal about it’ then rambled about her passion for cats,” according to a dispatcher.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 65 illness-related calls, 19 injury-related calls, 17 fire-related calls, five non-emergency service calls, 11 vehicle accidents, five Lifeline medical alerts, two hazardous conditions reports, one ambulance request, one medical helicopter request, one report of a dead body and two other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 141 inmates, including 128 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 96 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 21 inmates, including 12 booked by the Centralia Police Department, six booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by the Skokomish Tribe and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
