Sirens: Machete Wielded in Argument Over Confederate Flag; Motorcyclist Crashes During Police Stop

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal Impersonation

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 2000 block of Industrial Drive just before 11:05 a.m. on Oct. 3 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding warrant and for first-degree criminal impersonation after she allegedly provided a false name to an officer.

 

Trespassing

• A disorderly male was trespassed from a business in the 100 block of South Silver Street at approximately 3:05 p.m. on Oct. 3.

 

Theft

• Just after 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 3, a blue Yamaha FZ6 motorcycle, license number 6J3305, was reported stolen sometime overnight. Two male suspects were observed on video surveillance arriving in a 2000s model Silver Ram 1500 pickup and then leaving with the motorcycle in the back of the pickup.

• A tablet was reported stolen from the 400 block of West Plum Street just after 4:20 p.m. on Oct. 3.

• Just after 1:10 p.m. on Oct. 4, a man reportedly walked into a store in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue, took a case of beer from the cooler and left without paying for it.

Vehicle Accidents

• A Cinebar woman was treated for minor injuries at the scene of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of East Summa and South Buckner streets just after 3:55 p.m. on Oct. 5. The woman reportedly crashed the motorcycle when an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop. She was issued an infraction for driving without a motorcycle endorsement and was cited for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported on private property in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue just before 8:25 p.m. on Oct. 4.

 

Malicious Mischief

• A Centralia man was referred to the prosecutor’s office for possible malicious mischief charges after he allegedly damaged a phone at a business in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road.

Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of state Route 6 and Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Oct. 3.



• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Oct. 4.

 

Disputes

• A man reportedly threatened a subject with a machete in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 3 during a “verbal disagreement over (a) confederate flag flying.” The alleged victim did not wish to file a report or press charges. No arrests were made.

• A possible physical dispute was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 2 p.m. on Oct. 4.

 

Theft

• A bag containing a key to a bike lock was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:35 a.m. on Oct. 4.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 4 is under investigation.

 

Malicious Mischief

• A case of third-degree malicious mischief reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8 p.m. on Oct. 4 is under investigation.

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• Just before 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 4, a caller in the 500 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way reported hearing “a female yelling for help and saying she was shot.” A responding officer did not locate anyone in the area.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 176 inmates, including 162 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 143 were reported male and 19 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
