A suspect who stole more than $2,500 in cash from the Key Bank in the 19700 block of Old Highway 99 in Rochester just before 2:20 p.m. on Friday was still at large Monday morning, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The suspect — described as a 5-foot-9, medium-built white male between 20 and 30 years old with dark hair worn in a buzzcut — delivered a note demanding the money to the bank teller, who followed the bank’s standard procedure in case of a bank robbery, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect did not display any weapons during the robbery and no injuries were reported.

A customer at the bank who witnessed the incident reported seeing the suspect run across the street toward McDonald’s after obtaining the money.

He was wearing “a white shirt, a gray sweatshirt with three horizontal red and white stripes with some kind of animal on the front, red and white Converse-looking shoes, blue jeans, and glasses” at the time of the incident, according to information from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

An attempted K-9 track of the suspect, completed by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon, was unsuccessful.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office will release more information as the investigation continues.
