The only local baseball team that actually managed to work around the storms and get a game in Friday, Tumwater took advantage of its time on the field in Clark County to get one last win before spring break, beating 4A Battle Ground 11-6.

The Thunderbirds — designated as the home team for the neutral-site game, played at Heritage — struck for six runs in the bottom of the the third inning to take a 7-6 lead, before adding insurance in each of the next three frames.

Eddie Marson went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Brayden Oram and Graysen Reveal both had two-hit days, and Alex Overbay had a hit and two walks.

Nick Lowery earned the win on the hill, working three innings of middle relief and allowing just one unearned run.

Tumwater will get a week off and return to action on the road next Friday at Aberdeen.
