The Morton-White Pass football team pulled away late in White Swan on Friday, as the Timberwolves ended the game with three straight touchdowns to seal a 50-26 win.

The T-Wolves (2-0) led by 12 in the third, but the Cougars scored two straight touchdowns to tie the game at 26 in the fourth.

Morton-White Pass didn’t flinch, though, as Logan Mays broke free for a 40-yard touchdown to give the T-Wolves the lead, and Kohen Ingalsbe ran for two touchdowns later in the quarter to seal it.

“I think there was just a sense of urgency finally,” Morton-White Pass coach Lee Metcalf said. “Once things start snowballing on you, it’s kind of hard to get it back. But they were able to figure it out and turn the tides on them.”

Ingalsbe finished the day with three total touchdowns, including a 70-yard kickoff return after White Swan’s first touchdown of the game. He tallied 121 yards on just 12 carries and caught a pass for 10 yards.

Mays got into the end zone twice and ran for 141 yards on just 10 carries, and Judah Kelly also hit paydirt twice. As a team, the T-Wolves tallied 394 yards, including 240 on the ground.

“We were fairly crisp for the most part,” Metcalf said. “We’re making strides. Every week, we’ll just try to keep grinding and try to get better.”

Morton-White Pass will be back home next week, as Rainier will come to Morton for a Week 3 matchup.
