The Napavine softball team took two from Wahkiakum on Monday, as the Tigers defeated the Mules 20-0 and 19-2.

In Game 1, a league matchup, the Tigers (10-2, 3-1 C2BL) scored 16 runs in the first to erase any doubt right out the gate. They did the same in Game 2, scoring 13 runs in the opening frame.

Five different Tigers logged multiple hits in Game 1, including Clara Fay, who went 3 for 3 with triple, a double, and four RBIs, and Grace Gall, who went 2 for 3 with three RBIs.

“We’ve kinda of been waiting for her to get hot,” Napavine coach Josh Fay said of Gall. “It was good to see.”

Grace Pancake and Makayla Brett drove in four each, and Hannah Fay struck out seven in three shutout innings in the circle.

Napavine had similar success in Game 2, which was capped off by a grand slam off the bat of Brianna Lara.

“She swings it pretty well,” Fay said of Lara. “It was pretty cool to see for her.”

Once again, five Tigers collected multiple hits, including Paytin Wheeler and Sadie Gilligan.

Napavine will head to Toledo on Thursday.
