Titans Blow Out Wolverines

A 10-run first inning sparked the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball team to a dominant — and fast — win over Northwest Christian, beating the Wolverines 15-0 in three innings.

Three hits, a walk, and back-to-back errors gave the Titans five runs before NWC registered an out in the bottom of the first, and it would be 10-0 before the Wolverines got another. PWV got the line moving again with five more in the second, getting the game into run-rule territory quickly.

Wil Clements led the way at the bottom of the order with a 2 for 2 day, driving in a run and scoring two more. Seven other Titans got into the hit column, and at the heart of the order, Connor Keeton and Kail Homan both drove in three runs.

Blake Howard let two Wolverines on on free passes in the first inning but struck out the side, and after Kanyonn Clements worked around two more free passes in the second, he came an out away from a combined (and shortened) no-hitter, before NWC looped a single with two down in the third.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley will get eight days off the field, returning to play April 7 at Toledo in a non-league matchup.
