Two people arrested for allegedly ‘randomly assaulting’ two homeless people in Centralia on Thursday

Two people accused of “randomly assaulting” two homeless people at George Washington Park in Centralia on Thursday have been arrested for fourth-degree assault.

Both victims sustained “minor lacerations” in the assault, which was reported in the 100 block of South Pearl Street just after 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 5.

One of the victims was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for medical treatment.



The two suspects, identified by the Centralia Police Department as Marcus P. Redpath, 20, of Morton, and Joseph D. Whitney-House, 24, of Chehalis, were both booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail on Wednesday and were still in custody as of Friday morning.

Redpath was booked on two counts of fourth-degree assault and Whitney-House was booked on one count of fourth-degree assault, according to the Centralia Police Department.
