he Rochester football team came up just short against King’s Way Christian on Friday, as the Knights came up with a late stand near the goal line to hand the Warriors a 14-6 loss.

The Warriors had a fourth-and-2 at the four late, but only got one yard and turned the ball over on downs.

“We had a shot late,” Easley said. “The kids played hard … We have to clean up the mistakes and play better.”

Rochester’s lone touchdown on the night came from Carson Rotter, who scored in the third and finished with 44 yards rushing.

Ethan Rodriguez got the most carries out of the backfield, tallying 90 yards on 14 carries, while Chris Tartios and Xander Peterman combined for 18 carries and 60 yards.

On defense, Rotter grabbed two interceptions, and Kole Smith also came down with a pick.

The Warriors (0-1) will have the chance to get into the win column next Friday at Castle Rock.
