Joshua Greene: Cathy is a very nice lady, i’m sure there must be details to this we are not getting. Why scare someone to move? Was she making complaints every day, trashy housekeeping, disrupting other neighbors? Did she owe something to the new renter? Because these places have property owners (corporations usually) and property managers I’ve heard they will report an apartment as vacant but rent it and collect the moneh for themselves. Maybe she was about to get caught? Odd that she would go to the extreme of hurting herself. She was my brother’s neighbor for several years and really was a very nice lady, hard to understand this.

Jodi Durham Spicer: Lewis County is not that bad. Crime happens all over the planet, not just in this county. She has some issues, as we all do. I hope this time she spends in prison will be put toward something positive not only for herself but her family.

Kristi Carver: One of the nicest women I’ve ever met! Hope it goes fast so you can get back to your family!

Harvey Means: There are federal regulations governing trains and when they are supposed to warn via horns (crossings, intersections, etc). Not sure how he’s going to bypass federal requirements.

Marcus Gray: So who is responsible for the Jackson Highway “Pothole Lane”? That really needs more than just a “patch and move on.”

Jodi Durham Spicer: I would think the judges coming across this case would put a halt to any more continuances. These guys did this crime. They just aren’t capable of getting it in their minds that it was a crime. Shame on you, Thurston County.

Barbara Daniel: Way to put it off until people start forgetting. A dog’s life is not less important than a human’s!

If the commissioners are relying on legal advice from the county prosecutor, they might be well advised to demand the legal counsel be given in writing to avoid finding themselves in the precarious position of being found at fault for acts outside their scope of authority (e.g., negligence, overreaching, etc.) because they relied on the information, then finding they cannot recoup their losses because the one giving the advice denies having given it.

I guess my question is that if Discover Lewis County is such a great “investment” of our tax dollars, why are its financials harder to get than the nuclear code? What’s being hidden from us (and why)? If we went to such excruciating lengths to hide data from our bosses, we’d be fired. It appears in Lewis County that taxpayers serve at the will of the county commissioners and not the other way around.
