The last day of baseball season is less than a week old, but select local seniors are not done yet.

Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Lower Columbia Community College, 12 Chronicle-area baseball seniors will compete in the 44th Annual Southwest Washington Senior All-Star Game.

Split up into two teams, the “Nationals” will feature Rochester’s Tony Groninger and Landon Hawes, Napavine’s Scott Burdick and Gavin Parker, and Onalaska’s Ethan Cameron.

On the other side for the “Americans,” Adna’s Asa Ingle and Chance Muller, W.F. West’s Logan Moore, Toledo’s Mason Miller and Conor Gilreath, Ony’s Jeremy Larson, and Rainier’s Ethan Gonzales will be competing as well.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Story Field in an eight inning contest. Players were selected from nominations submitted by local coaches. The top players from the game could be selected to compete in the All-State Series in Yakima July 25 and 26, if they are nominated after Wednesday.
