The Thurston County Narcotics Task Force made three arrests and seized an estimated $1.2 million in illegal drugs during a bust at the Scatter Creek Rest Stop Monday, according to a news release.

Prior to the arrests, officers contacted three people associated with a rental vehicle that was sitting idle at the rest stop. According to the release, two of the people were known to officers and had outstanding warrants for their arrests.

“While taking the subjects into custody officers observed an open gym bag with illegal drugs and a large stack of U.S. currency in plain view,” the task force wrote in the news release.

Later, a search warrant was executed on the vehicle.

The search resulted in the seizure of 5.7 pounds of methamphetamine, 4.7 pounds of cocaine, 9.8 pounds of fentanyl, 2.3 pounds of heroin, three fully loaded firearms — one of which was stolen — three soft body armor vets and $90,000. The task force estimated the street value of the drugs at $1.2 million.

All three individuals were booked in the Thurston County Jail.
