Posted

Four different players scored goals for Tenino as the Beavers shutout Elma 5-0 in the regular-season finale on the road Thursday.

Brieanna Dell scored two goals, In the 23rd and 50th minutes, on assists from Megan Letts and Molly Craig. Dell added one assist to the stat sheet, to Alivia Hunter, which opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Letts scored a goal of her own in the 27th minute, while Morgan Miner ended the scoring in the 74th minute off an assist from Nicole Fralick.

“Morgan is a talented player, an all-league player from last year, and she’s been working hard,” Tenino coach Kevin Schultz said. “For her to see the ball go into the back of the net was a huge confidence boost.”

Tenino ends the season at 9-1 overall and 7-1 in the 1A Evergreen Conference, tied with Montesano (7-2, 7-1 league). Monte likely wins the tiebreaker for the top seed into districts, since the Bulldogs beat the Beavers 3-0, while the Beavers only defeated Monte 3-2 in their second matchup.

That means Tenino will likely take the second seed and host 1A Trico’s Castle Rock at 6 p.m. on Monday in the opening round of the playoffs.

“It feels great going into districts with a 5-0 win,” Schultz said. “Our wide players played really well, and going into the playoffs, it will make our attack more dangerous.”
