1B Volleyball: Trojans Finish Regular Season Winless

It wasn’t a win but it was the first time this season Pe Ell took a team to five sets, losing to rival Willapa Valley (24-26, 20-25, 25-20, 26-24, 9-15) at home Thursday on senior night.

“We came out with a lot of positive energy,” Pe Ell coach Holly Briggs said. “It was senior night, so a lot of emotions were running.”

Senior libero Sadie Howard led the Trojans with six digs and 80% passing, while Claire Cleveland added eight kills with no errors. Taylor Briggs also tallied eight kills to go with 20-for-21 serving, while Kennedy Kephart was 18-for-19 from the service line.

“The girls just came to have fun,” Briggs said.

The season isn’t over yet for the Trojans as they take the No. 6 seed in the 1B Columbia Valley league and face the 1B Coastal League’s No. 3 seed, Oakville, in Oakville at 6 p.m. on Monday in a loser-out match.
