CATHLAMET — The Loggers kept things close throughout, but couldn’t quite get past Wahkiakum in a 51-48 non-league boys basketball loss here Monday.
Cade Lawrence led Onalaska with 13. Ashton Haight chipped in 11 and Carter Whitehead scored nine, but the Loggers went just 9 of 38 from long range (23%) and 18 of 66 (27%) from the field.
Onalaska trailed 30-28 at halftime.
Logan LaBerge led Wahkiakum with 17 points.
Jake Leitz added 14 for the Mules, who improved to 8-5 with the win.
Onalaska (8-2) plays at Napavine on Wednesday.
The teams meet again on Jan. 29 in a Central 2B League game.
