MORTON — The Timberwolves made their ownership of the 2012-13 Central 2B League boys basketball title a solo affair with a 52-40 win over Adna here Saturday night.

Morton-White Pass, with two games left in the regular season, improved to 14-0 in league with the win. Onalaska, the second-place team, already has three losses on its record.

"That was one of our goals this year, obviously, so that was pleasing for us all," MWP coach Tony Gillispie said.

Containing Pirate guards Cooper Zurfluh, Lane Wasson and Tucker Coleman, he added, was the team's defensive focus. The Timberwolves led 26-24 at halftime, after Adna hit five 3-pointers in the first half, but held the Pirates to 8 points in both the third and fourth quarters.

Wasson finished with 13 points, Zurfluh scored 11 and Coleman added 9 for Adna.

Kalen Dunlap led Morton-White Pass with 21 points, hitting 6 of 12 from long range, and added nine rebounds. Kylon Gillispie added 10 points, and Kaleb Poquette scored 6 with 11 rebounds.

Morton-White Pass (18-1, 14-0 league, ranked No. 2 in the AP poll) will host Winlock at White Pass High School on Friday, and will close out the regular season at Onalaska on Saturday.

Adna (8-5 league) will play at Toutle Lake on Wednedsay, and host Napavine on Friday before closing the regular season at Wahkiakum on Saturday.
