2B Fastpitch: T-Wolves Hail Down Runs on Mules

In a chilly season opener that featured a five-minute hail storm, Morton-White Pass hailed runs down on Wahkiakum in an offensive explosion to take a 22-3 mercy-rule victory in three innings Monday on the road.

Emery Hampton went 4-4 at the plate with three runs, while Chloe Justice was 3-for-4 batting with four runs and a walk and Jaiden Linder was 3-for-3 with three runs. Kylie Davis and Madison Green each added three runs a piece while Shelby Karnes smacked a a triple for the Timberwolves

“They’re rebuilding and we were knocking off some rust,” MWP’s first-year coach Derek Bowen said. “We’re pretty excited.”



On the mound, starting pitcher Linder went 1 ⅓ innings while striking out three, allowing three hits and walking two. Justice pitched relief, going 2 ⅔ innings with four Ks, one hit and no walks.

“Our offense, we were seeing the ball and hitting the ball well,” Bowen said. “They had a few hits but they were earned. It was a solid three innings of baseball.”

MWP (1-0) hosts Toledo on Thursday in Morton.
