Bethany Bowen fanned nine batters, allowed five hits and walked one as Toledo shutout Winlock, 10-0, in six innings at home on Wednesday.
The Indians collected 12 total hits as a team, led by Brynn Williams, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a legit inside-the-park home run with no errors, where she burned the Cardinals’ left fielder and scored on a close play at the plate.
Senior Haleigh Holmes, Abby Marcil and senior Gracie Madill each went 2-for-4 at the plate. The Indians scored the mercy-rule run with one out in the bottom of the sixth.
Toledo improves to 8-1, sits in second place in the 2B Central League and hosts Stevenson at 3 p.m. on Thursday on Senior Night in the regular-season finale.
Winlock falls to 5-6 overall and hosts Napavine on Thursday in its Senior Night and regular-season finale.
