2B Wrestling: Indians and Tigers Battle in Seven-Team Meet

Toledo hosted a seven-team mix-and-match Wednesday, which included teams from Napavine, Kalama, Ilwaco, Raymond, Stevenson and Wahkiakum.

For Napavine, Aiden Miller wrestled at 160 pounds for the first time and came out on fire, winning both his matches via first-round pins.

Gabe Dickenson also won both his matches by first-round pins while wrestling at 138 pounds for the first time. At 120, Jesse Gunther won a hard-fought match with an 11-8 decision.

In the girls division, Anna Gunther and Annabella Cserni each won their matches by fall.

Results for Toledo wrestlers could not be obtained.



Napavine is off until June 1 when it heads to Kalama for a mix-and-match.

Tigers Grapple in Ocean Shores

Napavine took a two-hour jaunt to the coast to wrestle at North Beach High School in a mix-and-match Tuesday.

Leading the way for the Tigers was freshman Gabe Dickenson, who dropped down to 138 and spent less than a minute on the mat, pinning both his opponents.

Eighth grader Carter Catlin won his match at 165 and seventh grader Case Van Kooten won at 145 pounds. Sixth grader Anna Gunther was victorious at 135 pounds in the middle school girls division.
