A $50,000 donation from Dollar General to the Oakville School District will benefit an existing program to bring more books into the classroom, the school district says.

“The district will use this money to jump start plans that are already in process to bring more books into the classroom,” the district wrote on Facebook, thanking the variety store chain for the donation.

The donation is part of the store’s reading revolution program, which looks to promote literacy and reading, as well as provide supplies. More details from the district will be released at a later date.
