Acorns Still Searching for First Win

Oakville was unable to keep pace with Taholah, falling in straight sets (25-15, 25-15, 25-11) on Tuesday.

Acorns coach Shawna Howe said the team fought hard, going point for point with the Chitwins as the game progressed, but were unable to fend off Taholah’s strong serving.

“MaKayla Roberts did an excellent job of covering the net and returning those aggressive serves,” Howe said. “Jolynn Reed  did amazing tonight with her serves. Malikah McNair also had great coverage of the net helping block those attacks. Leah Reed did a great job of stepping in and helping set the ball up. The girls get better each game and I am so proud of their growth.”

Oakville (0-5 overall) travels to league rival Wishkah on Thursday.
