The Winlock girls basketball team ran over Morton-White Pass Tuesday night en route to a 60-32 win, its first league victory of the season.

It was one of many reasons to celebrate for the Cardinals (6-5, 1-2 C2BL), who were led by Addison Hall’s 27 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists. In the victory, Hall surpassed 1,000 career points with the Cards.

“We had a big first quarter, our goal was to get out and run,” Cardinals coach Dracy McCoy said. “The girls were excited that Addison hit that milestone and just kept the momentum going.”

McCoy commended the effort of her bench for providing a spark, with Kiya Peppers pulling down seven rebounds and Maia Chaney giving some nice energy in spurts.

Charlie Carper scored 12 points and added 15 rebounds for the Cardinals, helping them to a huge 57-29 advantage on the boards.

The Timberwolves were led by Mckenzee Mays’ 17 points. They’ll look to rebound against Eatonville on Saturday, while the Cardinals look to keep the momentum up against Stevenson at home on Thursday.
