Anthony Albert “Tony” Luond of Morton, Wash., after fighting off the cancer for almost two years, passed away at home in Chehalis, Monday, Sept. 2, 2019. He is now reunited with his wife, Dorene, who preceded him in death in 2015, after 61 years of marriage. Anthony was born at home in Ashford, Wash., May 21, 1932, to Albert and Madge Luond.

After graduating from Eatonville High School, he proudly served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War, worked in the woods, owned his own logging trucks, served on the school board and was the transportation supervisor for the Morton school district. He was a hard working self-made man.

During his life, Anthnony and Dorene traveled to almost every state in the United States, sometimes in the RV and others on his motorcycle, that he was still riding well into his 80s. Camping, horseback riding, jeeping and hunting, he did it all with his family.

Anthony is survived by his four children, Kathy (Ron) Walker, Toni (Karl) Schmidt, Patti (Tom) Howell, Mark (Yan) Luond; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his special friend, Judy Isgar; and his little buddy, Mickey Mouse the dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Madge Luond; brother, Al Luond; and sister, Rose Marie Anderson.

All of the Luond family would like to thank Anthony’s special friend, Judy Isgar, for caring for their father and enjoying many adventures with him during the last couple years of his life.

A celebration of life will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at the First Church of God in Morton. There will be a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anthony’s name to the Morton Jubilee Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 436, Morton, WA 98356. He loved Morton and he loved logging.
