Balanced Offense Leads Warriors over Centralia

Posted

Nobody went completely off for the Rochester girls basketball team Tuesday against Centralia, but the Warriors got a balanced night from just about everyone en route to a 48-43 2A EvCo win.

Seven Warriors scored at least five points, with Delany Winter leading the way with 11. Hannah Kush added nine, and Sara Haury scored seven.

Centralia’s Emily Wilkerson led all scorers with 17 points, 11 of which came from the line. Brooklyn Sprague added 10 points — seven from the stripe — and Makayla Chavez had nine. All told, the Tigers managed just five field goals in each half.

Centralia (1-4, 0-2 2A EvCo) will be at Tumwater to wrap the week Thursday. Rochester (2-3, 1-2 2A EvCo) is currently scheduled to be off through the new year, with their next slated game being against Eatonville on Jan. 2.
