PE ELL — Senior Hudson Barnum tossed a four-inning no-hitter in the front end of a home doubleheader as the Titans swept Chief Leschi Tuesday in Pe Ell.

Barnum fanned eight batters in the Titans’ 13-0 home-opening win and was aided by 11 first-inning PWV runs as six Titans drove home runs in the first frame.

The Titans tacked on two more runs in the second as Barnum went on to notch the shutout no-hitter and victory. PWV scattered 11 hits, led by Barnum’s 1 for 2 performance at the plate with three RBI, a run and a walk.

Riley Pearson went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI, while Blake Howard, Garrett Keeton and Kaden Ritzman each scored twice.

In Game 2, Keeton threw a two-inning no-hitter with two strikeouts and a walk as PWV smashed its way to a 16-0, run-rule victory.

The Titans —who scored all 16 of their runs in the bottom of the first — smacked 12 hits in their one inning at the plate, with four batters registering multi-hit games.

Joseph Krafczyk led the way with a 3 for 3 performance at the plate, knocking in three runs and scoring twice. Barnum, Ritzman and Wil Clements all went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBI. Keeton also drove in two runs.

Howard, Clements Ritzman and Krafczyk all hit doubles, while Barnum knocked a triple.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley next travels to the Olympic Peninsula to face league rival Forks for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
