W.F. West held a nine-point lead entering the fourth quarter and held off Ridgefield’s comeback attempt for a 53-47 road victory Wednesday in non-league action.
Junior post Soren Dalan notched his second straight double-double to start the season with a game-high 16 points and 22 rebounds. Senior Dirk Plakinger added 14 points and seven rebounds as the Bearcats’ rebounded from a season-opening loss on Tuesday to White River.
W.F. West held a 21-14 lead at the break, increased that lead to 39-30 entering the fourth quarter and held on for the victory.
Freshman Gage Brumfield added 10 points, while Evan Tornow had nine and Austin Snyder and Charlie Mallonee each scored two.
W.F. West (1-1 overall) next hosts Capital at 7 p.m. on Friday.
