The W.F. West girls finished second out of 28 teams on Saturday at the sub-district wrestling tournament in Aberdeen.

The host Bobcats won the team title with 238 points. The Bearcats notched 138 team points, outpacing third-place Shelton (75) by 63 points. Centralia finished fourth (70).

Senior Elizabeth Patana won the 130-pound bracket with three pins, while classmate Elaina Koenig won at 155 with two pins. Lia Hornby (140) took second, and Shelby Hazlett (125), Maritza Valencia (110), Kallee Corey (170), and Aurora Martin (130) all took third.

Kylee Breen (115) and Brooke Johnston (120) also advanced to the Region 3 tournament — scheduled for Saturday back in Aberdeen — as alternates.

“I am very proud of these girls,” W.F. West coach Matt Patana said. “They represented their school and community well and won 9 out of the last 10 matches.”

Centralia’s Analeese McAllister won both her matches to win the 135 bracket and teammates Luna Martinez-Arevalo (100) and Jade Hudson (105) each finished second. Jocelyn Navarro (100) took third.

Rochester’s Emily Weddle took second, while Tenino’s Morgan Miner (120) and Dakota Lees (170) were both second. Trinity Tafoya (190) was third for the Beavers.
