The W.F. West boys golf team headed north for the Sibley Scramble on Monday, and the Bearcats came out on top of a six-team field.

Each team — W.F. West, Centralia, Elma, Aberdeen, Montesano, and Shelton — had three duos play a two-man scramble, and the top two scores were combined for a team score.

W.F. West’s Weston Potter and Jax Potter combined for a three-under 69, and Jamie Conzatti and Emmett Goodman finished with a one-under 71 for the Bearcats’ 140. Mason McGregor and Jayce Ayers also shot well, shooting a one-over 73.

McGregor also won a closest to the pin contest, as he got within eight feet on the sixth hole.

“I was really excited for the boys to be able to go out, have some fun with other great golfers from the region, and were able to do as well as they did to win,” W.F. West coach Matt Klovdahl said.

The Bearcats will be back in action against Aberdeen on Wednesday, when the two schools will meet at Newaukum Valley.
