W.F. West and Ridgefield played one of the best games of the season so far on Friday night in Chehalis, as the Bearcats stormed back from a 15-point deficit before ultimately falling 79-75 in four overtimes.
Grady Westlund led the late comeback in regulation with eight points in the fourth, and the Bearcats were able to overcome a 10-point deficit in the final frame to force overtime.
W.F. West held a three-point lead going into the final possession of the first OT period, but a Ridgefield corner three sent it to a second. The Spudders eventually won the fourth OT 9-5 to come away with the win.
Westlund went on to finish with 24 points, 24 rebounds, and five blocks, while Carlos Vallejo had a double-double of his own with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomore Hayden Rooney stepped in at point guard, and he finished with 12 points and four assists.
Weston Potter added nine rebounds, eight points, and five assists while Gage Brumfield scored six points and dished out eight assists.
The Bearcats (1-1) will look to get back in the win column on Monday, when they host Mark Morris.
