The W.F. West baseball team topped Tumwater 2-0 on Monday, setting up a rubber match that will determine the EvCo champion on Tuesday in Chehalis.

The T-Birds could have clinched the league title outright with a win on Monday, but Grady Westlund was locked in from the first inning on the bump.

He ended up allowing just two hits while striking out five, and Connor Coleman slammed the door with a hitless frame in the seventh.

Both of W.F. West runs came on an error in the top of the fifth.

Derek Thompson ended up on the hook for the loss despite both of those runs being unearned. He struck out nine and allowed just three hits in six innings before Braeden Konrad pitched a scoreless seventh.

The Bearcats (17-2, 12-1 2A EvCo) and T-Birds (14-5, 12-1 2A EvCo) will play their third and final meeting of the regular season on Tuesday in Chehalis, where the winner will clinch the EvCo title.
